The all-new Focus represents the first fruits of the automaker's "One Ford" strategy of building vehicles that can be shared around the world. That's not how things worked previously at Ford, as evidenced by the three unique versions of the Focus before this model sold in different parts of the world. The strategy seems to be paying off, as the new Focus sedan and hatchback offer a level of style and substance that should appeal to small-car buyers the world over.Nice...but is Ford planning...or has already decided to...move the Focus upscale (like how Nissan moved the Sentra, Honda moved the Civic and Toyota moved the Corolla, with Versa, Fit and Yaris, respectively)?

This CAN'T be a sub $18K vehicle with what's in there. I think that it's even be more costly then the Civic/Corolla ones on what's being given in the Focus (Civic and Corolla don't have those technologies/features. If Ford's selling it at, say, $22K or so, then I would predict a sales failure because it's going to go into the Camry/Accord/Altima territories (which starts around $20K, so the mentality is that, if I pay $2000 - that's before any "rebate," I'll move "up" again). If it's going to sell at the current Focus price, then it WILL sell, but Ford's going to lose a lot of money on this (with its Union contracts).

For those of u who think that this will be a good Mazda3 competitor...then this vehicle will surely be doomed :( How many Mazda3 has Mazda sold per year?


After seeing the new Focus at an event before the Detroit auto show, I would say it has a much more premium appearance than its predecessor, and it's one that should resonate with small-car shoppers. Both the sedan and hatchback have a nice stance, and the car has lots of interesting body-panel creases. A trio of large front vents and a raked windshield give the Focus a sporty look.

The Focus is powered by a new 155-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder that features variable valve timing and direct injection. The engine teams with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Although gas mileage figures haven't been released, Ford says the Focus will offer unsurpassed fuel economy in its class. Whether it's this engine or another one — a turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine will be offered later in the Focus — the car will need to get around 40 mpg on the highway to live up to that claim.

A few hours after launch A7 Sportback, Audi spreads the first images of its sportier version equipped with the S-Line sports package available right from the start planned for October 2010. The German sedan is recognized for 19 alloy wheels (tires 255/40) or 20 inches (tires 265/35), the 10-mm lowered suspension and front bumper with fog lamps and air vents to nest 'bee, in addition to side skirts and rear extractor with chromed tailpipes. The interior of the new five-door is instead characterized by mixed fabric sports seats with leather-Alcantara, dl wheel three-spoke perforated leather inserts and aluminum applied along the console and door panels.

Mercedes today released the official photos of the new S 63 AMG in its final shape. The house had advanced model with a gallery on the copy "rigged" as the famous Rote Sau, the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG finished second in its race debut at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in 1971.

The big news of the S 63 AMG is hidden in the bonnet of course: the new 5.5 twin-turbo V8 has replaced the previous 6.2 naturally aspirated V8 525 hp and 630 Nm, dramatically improving its values both in terms of performance than on consumption and emissions .

Vehicle Overview
"The Traverse is an excellent vehicle. Roomy, good milage and a comfortable ride make this a winner. We purchased a 2010 with leather and a Silverado at the same time. Both vehicles ride smooth and have good acceleration."
For 2009, Chevrolet got its own version of GM's popular three-row crossover. It's called the Traverse, and it offers distinctive styling and a purportedly sportier driving experience than its GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave siblings. Competitors include the Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-9 and Hyundai Veracruz.
Under the Traverse's hood is a 3.6-liter V-6 with direct fuel injection to achieve slightly better power and gas mileage than the engines in the Acadia and Enclave. Three-row curtain airbags and an electronic stability system are standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.
The Traverse comes in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels.

Exterior
The Traverse sports the same stacked grille as the redesigned Chevy Malibu. The high beltline and tall roof are typical of most large crossovers, while the taillights recall Chevy's Camaro.

Interior
Great interior and styling. Does what I bought it for, hauling people and cargo. It has a very good power and the handling is great. Parking is much easier than I expected. The proximity warning system is a great help when backing up.FYI I have had no problems merging into traffic on busy interstates and highwaysLike its siblings, the Traverse's interior has bright gauges and plenty of beveled plastics. The door handles reside on their own raised cutouts, and the dashboard stacks contrasting materials atop one another. Parking assistance comes in the form of rear proximity sensors or a rearview backup camera.

  • A car designed with all the best of intentions, but falling short where ever it counts. The front of the car is designed so that you are unable to judge it's dimensions. In the rear they have pulled up the windows to ensure that the area that can not be judged as well and produce a maximum dead angle. The engine is fine unless you want to do a kick down on a free way entry than it will hesitate for multiple seconds about what your intentions are and the vehicle will slow down before it speeds up as you would expect. This provides for exiting times especially if you drive in places where you need to get on and off freeways a lot, like teh New York, New Jersey area

The Cadillac Escalade ESV's 6.2-liter V-8 now features cylinder deactivation, a technology designed to save gas by automatically shutting off four cylinders when driving conditions allow. Great performance and drive...Fifth gear to sixth can wander a bit due to being to light on the pedal. Love the pick up and sheer performance for a truck that size... Little disappointed with electrical issues in the first 5000 kms like side windows etc... Tire pressure gauge doesn't work and hard to fix... Best truck I've owned and gives a luxury sedan a run for its money...
Henry"The clock from prior Platinum trims is now standard across the lineup, and there are new side-impact airbags for the front seats. There's a USB port for connecting a portable music player to the audio system.

Exterior
Built on the same platform as the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL, the Escalade ESV stretches 20.4 inches longer than the regular Escalade. Fourteen of those inches go to extending the wheelbase, which allows for larger rear doors unconstrained by wheel wells. Height increases by 1.2 inches, and width remains about the same. Despite the bigger dimensions, curb weight increases by just 217 pounds for rear-wheel-drive models.

The ESV's extended dimensions don't yield significant gains for first- or second-row occupants, but third-row passengers gain nearly 10 inches of legroom. With the third-row seat removed and the second row folded forward, maximum cargo volume is 137.4 cubic feet—about 28 cubic feet more than the regular Escalade.

The 2010 Toyota Matrix is a compact crossover vehicle that can carry up to five people and plenty of cargo. The Matrix comes in a base version as well as S and sporty XRS trim levels. The Matrix competes with the Kia Spectra5, Mazda3 and related Pontiac Vibe. Features & Pricing
Excluding the destination charge, the Matrix starts at $16,190, roughly the same as the outgoing model equipped with similar features. Major standard features include A/C, a basic CD stereo with an auxiliary audio jack and power mirrors. Power windows and locks with remote entry run $990. For $18,260, the Matrix S includes those features along with the 2.4-liter engine, a rear wiper and more. All-wheel drive adds $2,140, but it also includes an automatic transmission, which costs $1,190 otherwise.

The Matrix XRS starts at $20,660 and comes with 18-inch rims, a sport-tuned suspension and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. Many of those features are optional on lesser trims. How it Looks
Toyota didn't reinvent the wheel with this version; the new face looks like a logical progression from the old model. The lights appear lower and leaner, and the bumper's chunky flanks seem on the verge of swallowing what lies between. The aggressiveness fits on this car, and it bears some resemblance to Toyota's forthcoming Venza crossover.

Overall length has increased by less than an inch, and ride height is about half an inch lower. Sadly, the liftgate no longer incorporates the previous model's glass hatch.

Sixteen-inch steel wheels with plastic covers come on the base model and Matrix S. For its price, the S really ought to have alloy rims, but they're optional. The XRS has standard 18-inch alloys.

The Tenere will come to the U.S. but not this year. It won't be priced higher than BMW. Just you watch. Extra weight? Compared to what -- it's close to a BMW similarly equipped. Otherwise you're better off with them, else you're kidding yourself about your skills.it is a curious thing that yamaha doesn't sell any 660cc monocylinder bike in the us. here in brazil, the fuel-injected xt660 has been a bestseller for a decade. people here like this bike so much that its sister, the mt-03 didn´t sell and was discontinued, though visually nicer. as you, we are waiting for the xt660 z teneré...Riders will expect some dang nice features on a machine this expensive, and the Yamaha looks like it won’t disappoint. At the heart is a 1199cc Parallel Twin using 98x79.5mm cylinders at 11:1 compression. A 270-degree firing rotation is claimed to put power down in an extremely usable manner, promoting traction in all situations. The new Mazda RX-7 (also could be called RX-9) should arrive by 2013 and, according to rumors, will keep the legendary Renesis rotary engine designed by Felix Wankel, made famous by the legendary 787B racing. The real innovation for the new RX, which we propose a rendering, could be the adoption of a system using turbo electric supercharger (that is, electrically powered compressor and not activated by the flow of exhaust gases). This should ensure the car more efficient operation and torque values much higher, the real weaknesses of the RX-8, to the benefit of fuel consumption and emissions.

The design of the car could be consistent with the style of "Nagare" inspired by nature (especially the wind and flowing water), this design language has proved successful on the latest creations Mazda straddling 2006 and 2007. However, the Japanese company has unveiled that the next concept cars and production cars (like the new 5) will be made following a new wave style. The same could influence the design of promising new RX.

Fiat has announced the arrival of a new Limited Edition 500 for called Blackjack. The special version will be recognized by the exclusive body color with black opaque treatment that provides a specific process. Furthermore, the Fiat 500 Blackjack, recognizable aesthetic elements as burnished mustache, handles, mirror housings and door-plate and alloy wheels for 16 inch matte black frame with red center. Infiniti announced that the price list for the M sedan with 3.7 V6 petrol engine (320 hp) already available at dealers from the 52,800 euros needed for the version of access. The Infiniti M37 is offered as standard with automatic 7-speed, bi-Xenon headlights, 10 front seats with electric adjustments, rear camera, sound system with hard disk drive (HDD) in addition to the selector rule that the main driving parameters according to four operating modes (Sport, Normal, Snow and Eco).
The range is completed with the GT version, which adds leather seats, heated and ventilated front and inserts in white ash with a silver finish, and the sportier S characterized by four-wheel steering, sports suspension, sports seats (heated and ventilated ) paddles for changing gear and 20-inch alloy wheels. Unpublished make for the new Mercedes B-Class to be held in 2012: the German mpv will be marketed for the first time in the U.S. with the objective to boost the commercial success of the current generation. The decision to export the B-Class (also Class A) in the United States was gained by analyzing sales data on the North American market for cars like the Smart Fortwo, the more parsimonious and less expensive. Sales driven by the economic crisis and the rising price of fuel.As you can see from the picture, the car has many features that we find in the second generation of the MPV in Stuttgart, starting from the style of the more angular grille and headlights, passing through the styling of the side, very similar to what we seen on the new CLS: two semi horizontal and almost parallel lines that converge towards the muscular rear wheel arches, "embraced" by a striking curved ribs. Overall an evolution than a revolution. But models of such commercial importance could not be otherwise

The current generation of 4-strokes are so much better than what was offered back in the 80s and 90s and in the top end run very much like the old 2-strokes. It sounds like the low end bog is a recurring theme even with the older models like mine. My TE has enough power to get the job done in most situations I get into and my only gripe is that it takes 15 minutes to warm up fully. But that may be because I haven't tinkered with the carb jetting yet.Husky has done everything else right by us in the looks department, but for some reason has switched from red to black on the cylinder head and hose connectors.
The TE uses a small fan to help keep things cool.Husqvarna is the first to offer a real 250cc dirt bike that is street legal. 57.8-inch wheelbase and the same double-cradle steel chassis as the TXC make it a quick-handling, agile mount. The closed-cartridge 48mm fork is new for Husqvarna rather than the Marzocchi unit previously used on TE models. The chassis and suspension encourage aggressive riding and the new Kayaba/Sachs suspension is a welcome addition. The fork has less bottoming resistance than on the TXC, likely due to the extra weight.A six-speed transmission gives a little extra leg room, though we argued about whether a gearing adjustment could make up for the lack of bottom end. The motor uses titanium valves operated by dual overhead cams. A 79 x 50.9 bore and stroke pump out power that is definitely best on the top end. Electric start is mandatory these days in our opinion and the Husky system works well. It also comes with a kickstarter for you masochists and paranoids.

Didn’t Ducati already have a Monster 800 called the SR2 800 with the same displacement of 803 cc (2 valves) a few years ago? In a few years from now is Ducati going to come out with a new bike called the Monster 596 and start this cycle all over again?
Fuel is received from a 3.8-gallon fuel tank through 45mm throttle bodies, each equipped with a single fuel-injector. Exhaust is piped through a 2-1-2 stainless-steel configuration that terminates with twin shorty-style under-tail mufflers. Each header pipe is fitted with an oxygen sensor which ensures optimum engine running conditions. A six-speed transmission and a hydraulically-operated APTC clutch control the engine’s power through a chain drive. Furthermore the clutch is bathed within the engine’s oil supply enhancing reliability and reducing noise as compared to the racing-style ’dry’ clutches used on the 1198 Superbike. The clutch also incorporates a slipper/back torque limiting functionality which helps prevent the rear wheel instability during downshifts at high rpm. The engine is cradled in a lipstick-red steel trellis frame. It attaches to a reworked subframe which is compatible with passenger grab handles that are available as a Ducati accessory ($129). The 796 also gets the same well-crafted single-sided aluminum swingarm as used on the more expensive 1100 model

VIVAnews - PT Garuda Mataram Motor, Volkswagen's sole agent, this Wednesday, July 14, 2010, launched the latest variant of Golf, Golf TSI. This is the sixth generation Golf was launched in the first time since 1974.
This five-door hatchbacks are assembled at the factory of PT Indomobil, the parent of its business, in Pulogadung, Jakarta, aka the car completely knocked down (CKD). Therefore, the price can be more oblique than those imported from Germany. Golf TSI will dilego worth Rp339 million on the road of Jakarta, while the import version is sold at Rp395 million.
Head of Corporate Executive Andrew Nasuri Garuda Mataram Motor, said the new Golf looks more fresh. The main changes made in the form of the headlamps, front-rear bumper, and grille.

The 2011 Honda Accord facelift will hit the U.S. market in mid-August.



That has to be the worst facelift from Honda ever.. 'wooow' NOW we get the useless red strip on the trunk of the Honda Inspire (what the accord sedan is sold in Japan as) and the taillights of the coupe are just plain horrible and boring/cheap..what, no LEDs??? makes the 2007 sedan/coupe look newer outside..ngine choices are relatively unchanged, though engineers with the Japanese automaker worked to reduce friction in engine parts. Along with revisions to both the car's gear ratios and aerodynamics, the car has an improved fuel economy rating. This translates to a ten-percent reduction in fuel use with the two four-cylinder engines, and a five-percent reduction for the range-leading 3.5-liter 271-horsepower (202 kW / 275 PS) V6 engine.

Changes to the car's exterior include a new front bumper meant to make the vehicle look more aggressive. This will surely be debated by Honda fans, who may very well be disappointed with the look. The Accord also gets new taillights, as well as new wheels for V6 buyers.

Inside, new features like a rear-view camera, USB input, memory seats, new cloth fabric choices, and paddle shifters can be found. Aside from the facelift, the automaker is also selling a new Special Edition trim for the sedan. The SE includes heated leather seats, leather-covered steering wheel, and lumbar support for the driver.

BMW Aplina has released details on its B5 F10 Bi-Turbo, based on the BMW 5-Series.It looks very nice. I like standard 5-Series and I would seriously buy one if have to choose between it, E-Class and A6. Didn't mention the Jaguar XF because it's my favourite sedan in this class. However knowing the Alpina quality and don't have the idea of XFR existance I would buy this immediately or keep waiting for new M5 with probably 555bhp.

First off is the 4.4-liter V8 under the hood which produces 507 PS (373 kW) and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is optimized by way of tinkering with the indirect intercooling system, among others. It's coupled to the SWITCH-TRONIC 8-speed sport automatic transmission from ZF for a fuel economy rating of 10.8 liters/100 km.

Performance figures are 4.7 seconds for the 0 to 100 km/h sprint (62 mph) and top speed is 307 km/h (191 mph). Help to make that sprint as sprightly and enjoyable as possible also comes from a "neutral" suspension set-up which includes shorter but progressive springs and specialized suspension arms. An electronically-adjustable system is also available (Variable Damper Control) in four settings - Normal, Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

For the B5 to roll on are 20-inch Alpina wheels wrapped in 255/35ZR20 tires at the front and 285/30ZR20 for the rear.

A full aerodynamic package includes Alpina branded front fascia, side skirts, rear bumper with an integrated quad-exhaust and optional diffuser.

On the inside are a leather finish with electronic goodies such as gauges in a black panel LCD display from Alpina.

No price details have yet been made available.

Source: AlpinaAlthough a petrol engine might emit more CO2, a diesel engine emits far more bad 'stuff' (e.g. fine particles) that actually makes you cough and directly cause asthma and cancer. CO2 is not directly harmful for humans, only indirectly (greenhouse effect and all that). Also from one barrel of crude oil one can produces far less diesel then petrol. So although a diesel engine might get a lower mpg rating, it will still effectively use up more crude oil then a petrol engine does!

The diesel lobby (in Europe) is trying to push diesel as the more environmentally and economical option, which is blatantly untrue, as it is just a tactic to justify taxing diesel less then petrol. Which comes down to taxing the public more then businesses, which is of course completely unfair, especially since it's based on lies.

Have ridden previous models and have all been very good....Hoping for something even better from the 2010 model. looks good and specs speak for themselves but performance on the ground will be the real test....based on the past.....it should be a bloody good ride. The new Suzuki enduro uses the same 449cc liquid-cooled engine as the RM-Z450.Modifications to the 2010 RM-Z450 engine include revised cam profiles, cylinder-head porting, and an improved camchain tensioner. Suzuki has also tinkered with the RM-Z450’s electronic fuel injection, reversing the throttle valve movement. Changes to the chassis starts with a two-piece head stock that’s 9mm-taller than last year and the Showa 47mm fork has new spring rates. On the tail end, the extruded and cast members on the rear section of the frame are wider, and the motorcycle’s wheelbase is 0.6-inches longer. The Showa suspension on the rear also features revised spring and damping rates.
A tidy little digital instrument panel displays speed, time, trip lengths, and voltage while in standard mode. The airbox on Suzuki's new enduro has a hinged lid which should help keep dust out better and provides for easy maintenance. .
Suzuki’s engineers have carefully developed the RM-Z450’s powerful 449cm3, DOHC, 4-valve engine to increase power throughout the rev range. Always known for its incredible midrange grunt, the 2010 RM-Z450 also has arm- stretching high-rpm power. A combination of revised cam profiles and reworked cylinder-head porting give the RM-Z450 amazing idle-to-redline thrust. An improved camchain tensioner provides more consistent performance. Also a modified throttle linkage makes the low-speed response more progressive. How’s that? More power and better manners. Fuel Injection, Pioneered and Improved For 2010, the RM-Z450’s electronic fuel injection is improved with a reversed throttle valve movement. Such a simple alteration pays handsomely: The fine fuel-air mist from the 12-hole fuel injector is directed away from the throttle valve for a more uniform mixture producing increased power and enhanced throttle response. Chassis Dynamic, The RMZ450Z's swingarm is derived from the RM-Z450 and the rear suspension linkage benefits from reduced free playEverywhere you look, the RM-Z450’s twin-spar aluminum alloy frame has received detail improvements to optimize rigidity balance. It starts with the head stock, which is now a two-piece design that’s 9mm taller than before. Further back, the sections at the rear of the frame, which are made up of extruded and cast members, are now wider for increased rigidity. More strength comes from a wider upper frame bridge beneath the saddle, while material wall thickness was strategically designed to save weight. High-Quality Showa Suspension The RM-Z450 employs race-bred, state-of-the-art Showa suspension front and rear. For 2010, both ends of the bike are given suitably revised spring and damping rates—the new rates work together with the chassis’ optimized rigidity balance to improve handling. 47mm inverted forks provide optimum wheel travel and can be adjusted for compression as well as rebound damping for maximum rider adjustability. A Showa piggyback reservoir rear shock offers both high- and low-speed compression damping adjustment along with rebound damping and spring preload adjustments. Working through Suzuki’s superlative rising-rate linkage system—now with revised link-bearing tolerances for precise handling performance—the shock provides 310mm of wheel travel delivering maximum traction. Suzuki continues to offer its two-strokes, the RM125 and RM250, but only in the European market. Suzuki has not yet revealed the 2010 MSRPs. Once again Suzuki leads the way with fuel injection. For all those haters that said FI would never work on bikes and that it would never be the standard...finish eating those words.
