Well, the man in the billboard ad doesn't seem too impressed with it. He was hoping for greatness but instead all he got was this new 6-series convertible which, though it may not achieve the same level of fastastic ugliness as exemplified by the new Merc E-Class Cabrio, at least appears to be on track to emulate the Cabrio's bulbous proportions.
Don't get me wrong, having bulbous proportions isn't necessarily a bad thing. After all, some people think that pregnafied anorexic crack whores are kinda hot. They are going to ruin a great looking car. The current 6-series is a very pretty car. in fact the only nice car BMW is currently producing.. They were doing something right back in the 2000 with the z8, but after that god knows what they have been doing. The 7-series and 5-series looks like crap, and so does the new 1-series and the 5-series GT... not to mention x6.. It seems almost as if this is where the 6-Series development would logically lead to if the BMW design department were taken over by a tuning house. Certainly it's a very curvacious styling job.
The next-generation 6-Series will likely be tamer than this (even the M6 variant), taking far more subtle styling cues from the current 7-Series as well from the CS Concept. It is expected to debut sometime next year.
The 2011 6-Series will most probably come, according to a WCF spy photographer, as both a rigid roof coupe and canvass top cabriolet model.
The real M6 variant may be fitted with the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 currently in the X5M and X6M.

By keeping these nostrils on front of BMW what ever it takes diminishes the rest of body modeling to the buttoning some car-like thing to that front grill. Its visible in that case. The reason why design should be made in live modeling is a possibility to avoid the morphological idiocy which is easy to come when searing at the monitor all alone somewhere in dark.
