The 2010 Compass is a 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utility, available in 4 trims, ranging from the Sport 4X2to the Limited 4X4. Great gas mileage at 32 MPG in town and 29.7 MPG on the road. Ride is a bit clunky on bumps, but this is a Jeep. Good radio/CD sound system. Interior is comfortable. Two cup holders. Could use to plug-in's for electronic gear, has just one. Bought a splitter plug-in. Comfortable room in back seat. I like the auto locking systems for the doors at 15 MPH when leaving home. I would buy this car again.
Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 172-horsepower engine that achieves 23-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional.
This Jeep is a paved roads Jeep. It's not really built for off road like other Jeeps. It's more of a city/town car. The interior is well designed, very practical, and plain. That's great when you don't want to worry about too much stuff. The interior is very easy to maintain so getting it dirty is not a problem. The seats are amazingly comfortable - much more so than other vehicles in its class. The Compass handles very well and has more than enough power for everyday use. This is not a "tricked out" vehicle, although it does offer many ammenities
