Nissan Motorsports International (NISMO) has announced that it has signed a deal with two teams for the FIA GT1 World Championship series in which the R35 GT-R will compete in 2010.
The R35 GT-R will be raced by the Sumo Power GT team from the UK as well as the Swiss Racing Team. Further details, such as the driver lineup, will be released later on.
The GT-R is a rear-wheel drive GT1 racer and comes with a naturally aspirated 5.6-liter VK56DE V8 engine tuned to 600 hp and 650 Nm of torque. It is fitted with a 6-speed transmission from Ricardo by way of a carbon triple-plate clutch and grips the ground with 18-inch x 13-inch forged wheels by Rays.

Nissan's participation in FIA GT1 racing has been in the works for some time. Last year it tested the GT-R in several GT1 races. Now, they seem ready for the real competition.

yFord has initiated a stop work order on a full-size van because it uses the same gas pedal believed to be the cause of sudden, uncontrolled acceleration in several Toyota models. Roughly 1,600 Ford Transit Classic diesel vehicles for the Chinese market have been assembled since production began in December.
Production was frozen on the Transit Classic, which is built by a joint venture with Jiangling Motors Co. The van's accelerator, sourced by Indiana-based firm CTS Corp., is a part alleged to be the leading factor in 20 deaths and 2,000 complaints in Toyota vehicles dating back to 2005.
The decision by Ford and Jiangling is a preventative measure, as no complaints have yet been filed about the van. "We have not determined whether we have a problem there yet," said Ford head Alan Mulally in an Associated Press report. "What we do know is we found a similar design."
The Chinese-spec Ford Transit Classic is believed to be the only Ford vehicle that uses an accelerator produced by CTS.
"That's part of our routine process. When a company has a recall, you conduct a review and determine if you share any of the same vendors, design, parts," a Jiangling spokesman said.Source: freep.com

The BMW Z4 sDrive35is will debut at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show next month. US and European Market launch are in jump. All other Z4 models will also be existing with the M Sports Package as a decision

The Volkswagen New Compact Coupe Concept car has revealed at 2010 NAIAS in Detroit. Attendees a sneak peak at what the potential has in amass for the Jetta mkVI.

The NCC (New Compact Coupe) Concept comes with VW’s 1.4 liter TSI engine, a turbocharged 4-cylinder dialed up to 150 hp and 220 Nm of torque (177 lb-ft), coupled to a 7-speed DSG gearbox (a dual-clutch sequential transmission), as well as an electric motor with 20 kW/27 hp. Powering by a lithium-ion sequence bunch, the exciting motor is able to thrust the car on its own, which allows the vehicle to be classified as an occupied-fusion. When the TSI engine is shut down, it is also disengaged to reduce any drag effect.

The NCC comes in “Tungsten Silver Metallic” with bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running light, roll signals and tail lights. The NCC is 4.54 m (178.5 inches) long, 1.78 m (70.1 inches) varied and 1.41 m tall. Fitting with 19-crawl “Lugano” alloy wheels, the NCC comes refined with a Grigio Quartz (grey quartz) and Berry White leather interior.
Nevertheless the sincere rumor is the car’s styling, which brings back parade headlights while ditching the Jetta mkV’s ornate chrome skin. The two-door car reportedly has a roofline that is indistinguishable from the next-gen vehicle.
To be built in Mexico the Jetta mkVI will have its media release in June with the market launch in the thrid section of this year. It could get petrol 2.0-liter sincerely aspirated or turbocharged four-bangers, and a TDI. North American origin price could be as low as $17k.

'Nagare' works on sportier cars, but here it's a little too... much. If you've seen a new Mazda3 in person, make that big gawping face about 20-30% bigger to get the new Mazda5. And at the back it looks like a Ssangyong Rodius. The wispy lines down the sides are a nice unique touch though. Mazda has released first information about the third generation 2011 Mazda5, ahead of it's unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show.
Set to go on sale in Europe this fall, the redesigned Mazda5 features Mazda's "Nagare Flow" design language, dual-sliding rear doors, and seating for up to seven. According to Hideki Matsuoka, Mazda5 Program Manager, "Our main goal with the all-new Mazda5, was to develop a new C-MAV (C-segment Multi Activity Vehicle) that combines the superior environmental performance these times demand with a new expression in stylish design."
Under the hood, power comes from a new 2.0-liter DISI1 petrol engine that has been outfitted with an engine start/start system (called i-stop). While official fuel economy ratings weren't released, Mazda says the engine will make the Mazda5 "one of the most frugal and clean C-MAVs on the market, achieving approximately 15 percent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the 2.0-liter petrol it replaces." If that doesn't float your boat, the company will also offer a 1.8-liter petrol engine. It will likely produce 115 hp (85 kW) and 165 Nm of torque.The whole style of the Mazda 5 is identifiable and the sidelines as a result of the designtheme are beautyful and fit the car alot. Interesting trend: Peugeot will minimize their grill design, Mazda will push them up. Nice, but a little bit to plump for a sportive mpv. The sliding doors are great! The last recall was just few days ago and it includes 2008/2009/and 2010 models as well. Unreliable on the snow. Serious problems with brakes when you switch to the snow system.You have to leave a long safety distance on the taraffic lights becuase you may hit the car in front of you. I am so serious just try yourself and see, the brakes are completely unreliable. The worst dealers ever. Land Rover North America has the worst customer service ever. They took my car back to fix a serious problem in the transmision ( I can fax the report to any one who is interested) they kept the car for 14 days and refused to give me a car to drive while repairing my car. If the lights on the dash board truned off by itself( again by itself) while driving during the night do not get panic as it seems it is normal thing in LR2 !!!! If you could not take the electronic key out, again please do not worry, just call them. They will come and take your car again and again and keeps it for 2 days before they tell you that they reinstalled the software in the electronic key.....nothing serious!!!!You can guess why Land Rover is still losing money. Their sales dropped 52% during the last few months and the company lost 69 million dollars during the last quarter of 2009. It is true, just google it. 2011 BMW 3-Series E92/E93 Facelift Details : Reviews and Specs




The M3-Sport package will now feature 19-inch wheels (instead of 18-inchers) and automatic high beam assist will become an optional extra.Listen you kid, BMW E92 is widely considered as one of the best looking current BMWs, especially M3, so don't say it's ugly just because you maybe don't like BMW. And you probably don't know that this one up is a spy photo!
More importantly, BimmerFile is reporting BMW will offer a new "iS" model for the United States. It will boast a double-clutch transmission (a 'Sport Automatic' will also be available), an aerodynamic body kit, and several M styling cues.

Power will likely be provided by the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six used in the Z4 sDrive35is. This means the 3-Series iS will have at least 246kW (335 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, which should allow it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 5.2 seconds.
Look for the updated E92 and E93 to appear at the Geneva Motor Show in March. An official announcement is expected the coming weeks.
BMW are one of the best automakers, I have owned several BMW's & was completly satisfied 100% especially with my M5.... :D

Toyota has launched its new Yaris variant in Europe the Toyota Yaris SR, a performance version of the popular compact car. The Toyota Yaris SR is powered by a 1.8 liter petrol engine with Dual VVT-i technology that produces 131 horsepower. Great looking car, hopefully they don't change it much while it does from concept to production, except for maybe the 3 seat setup, not a huge fan of that. But the looks are fantastic, lets just hope it doesn't have the typical faults of a Peugeot.Typical of a GT, the SR1 features a large sculptured bonnet, flowing wings, a low centre of gravity, sweeping sides and a chiselled rear design. LED headlights are a highlight, as is the new redesigned Lion badge.

The interior layout pattern is a 2+1 type which places two passengers up front and one in the middle rear. Leather and wood accents are evident inside the cabin while so-called high tech materials like nickel and satin-finished chrome adorn various parts. A chic touch is an exclusive wristwatch that fits into a dedicated housing on the fascia panel.

Power is supplied by HYbrid4 technology consisting of a 1.6-litre THP petrol producing 160kW (218hp) and a rear electric motor of 70kW (95hp). Total system output is 230kW (313hp) and AWD is engaged when the two systems are working together. Average fuel consumption is 4.9 litres per 100km while C02 emissions are pegged at 119g/km.

Whilst this looks better than all of those, I can see the Honda OSM Concept at the front and a BMW at the rear (especially with the roof up - like a 6-Series). But more of this design language please Peugeot! And better build quality and plastics. And much less weight. And a better drive. Please?The SR1 will be shown at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in early March.

The M division is responsible for creating high-performance versions of regular BMWs, including the iconic 3 Series-based M3, though the new GT – called CS internally - will be the first non-M-badged car produced by the subsidiary The four-seater GT will be a large car at more than five metres long and is expected to be based on the underpinnings of the new 7 Series that goes on sale later this year.
M division’s involvement suggests the CS, however, is likely to have a significantly sportier chassis to ensure the handling is at least a match for the likes of the aforementioned Panamera. Willisch admits the CS “will need to be top notch”.

A 6.0-litre V12 formed by adding two cylinders to the M5’s V10 is rumoured to be one of the CS’s engine options, though a smaller, twin-turbocharged engine could also be in the running.
Willisch has revealed that his M division is set to introduce turbocharged and downsized engines on future M cars. The next-generation M5 due about the same time as the CS is rumoured to be switching from its naturally aspirated V10 to a twin-turbocharged V8

Much more interesting than the old Meriva, although it retains that awful, awful name.
But they've made Honda's mistake of making the headlights too big. They're completely out of proportion with the rest of the front mask and are probably only that big to give it a cutesy face that will go with a cartoony ad campaign. I will thus never want one.
The rest of it looks good though, nice 'n' modern, and clearly a VauxOpel, although that jagged waistline will likely polarise opinion. Vauxhall has released the first images of the redesigned 2011 Meriva (aka the Opel Meriva), ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show.
Featuring the same design language as the critically-acclaimed Insignia, the Meriva looks far more upscale than its predecessor. The advanced design is further highlighted by the addition of FlexDoors which were originally shown on the Meriva Concept in 2008. According to Vauxhall, the rear-hinged FlexDoors "swing open towards the back of the car at an angle of nearly 90 degrees, vastly improving the ease with which occupants enter and leave the cabin. Rather than having to step back, or to one side, as one would using a normal front-hinged door, the FlexDoor allows unimpeded forward access/egress to and from the cabin, enhanced further by the Meriva's exceptionally high roof line."
While Vauxhall didn't release any interior pictures, they stated the cabin will feature a FlexRail system which allows owners to choose from a variety of modular storage bins and other components. Elsewhere, the company also revised the FlexSpace system (fold-down rear seats which can slide forward and backwards to improve legroom or storage capacity) to be more intuitive to use.
Engine options will include six turbocharged units with power outputs ranging from 75 to 140PS. On average, the engines will have a 15% improvement in fuel efficiency and 25 g/km reduction in CO2 emissions. If that isn't green enough, the company will also introduce an ecoFLEX model.

Americans who have heard of it refer to it as a mini-Murano, the Japanese market knows it as a Dualis, and Stephane Schwarz, the design director at Nissan Design Europe thinks of it as an "Urban Nomad", a nickname borne out by the Nissan UK website which refers to it as "urbanproof". Whatever the descriptor, though, "it" is the 2007 Nissan Qashqai, the Japanese carmaker's chief assault weapon against the similarly sized Volkswagen CrossGolf.
Designed in London, built in Sunderland, and named for a nomadic people from southwestern Iran, the Nissan Qashqai, which is offered in European, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets, is perfect example of a compact crossover car. It has the soul of a coupe and the flexibility of a hatchback.
The Nissan Qashqai is featured with a choice of four engines, two gasoline (petrol) and two diesel. The 1.5-litre diesel engine provides 106 horsepower and 240Nm of torque while the 2.0-litre puts out 150 hp and 320Nm of torque. The petrol engines offer 115 horsepower and 160Nm of torque in a 1.6-litre model, or 140hp and 200Nm in the 2.0-litre version. In addition there is an array of gearbox options, including five-speed and six-speed manual, six-speed automatic and CVT. Both the diesel and petrol versions of the 2-litre engine are available with Nissan's all-wheel drive system. Don't let the 4x4 option fool you, however. Despite the fact that the Nissan Qashqai is taller and has more clearance than a true hatchback, the all-wheel drive option is there for additional road safety - this car is meant for street use.
As well as being taller than the average hatchback, the Nissan Qashqai is also about 100mm longer (though it is still roughly 150 mm shorter than most SUV's), and a bit wider, with a wheelbase of 2630mm, and a 1780mm width. These slightly larger dimensions are enhanced by the sporty feel of the interior, which has a raised main console and instrument panels that are deeply recessed.
At the Qashqai's launch event in Paris last September, Nissan's president and CEO Carlos Ghosn said "European customers want it all: dynamic design, driving performance and attractive premium interior." With expected sales of 100,000 Qashqai's in the model's first year, it is clear that Nissan wants the Qashqai to be a cash cow.
